Saving On A New Look For Our Outdoor Holiday Decor ~ #KmartHoliday #CBias

My family is looking forward to changing our outdoor holiday lighting theme this year.  We've had blue lights on the house and shrubs for the last couple of years, leftovers from the condo.  With the expenses of buying our first house and all of the renovations that go along with it, we haven't had opportunity to address new holiday lights yet, or decor that suits the house.  Offering after season prices before the holiday, shopping at Kmart is an easy decision.  Although I already have a couple of sets of dangling icicle lights for the roof lines, we need to add some additional elements to up our holiday pizazz!

This week Kmart is offering fantastic deals throughout the store, however our primary purpose for this trip is to explore bargains in the holiday section, up to 40% off the entire Kmart Christmas Shop and extra savings kicking in Thursday through Saturday, 12/15 - 12/17!  That is some serious K'CHINGLE!

  • 33-40% off trees and stands
  • 33-40% all themed ornamentation and decor
  • 33-40% off all Trim A Home, licensed ornamentation and tree skirts
  • 40% off outdoor decor
  • 40% off all light sets
  • 40% off all collectible villages
  • 40% off all boxed cards
  • 40% off all multi roll wrapping paper

Of course, I wanted to see if I could find the much desired, pink lighted yard pig.  My son, with his heart set on animated, lighted reindeer, began his persuasive arguments for reindeer, well before we left for the store.

Sale Price - $46.89, regularly $79.99

Like a divine decor intervention, the yard pig is on display, in all her pink, holiday glory!   A particularly exciting find, as only the santa version is available at Kmart online!

Although I can't comprehend why the boys don't love her as much as I do, they are quite firm on not including her in our new theme.  Not even an "in the box" reindeer pig in the store, this may be the last one!  Despite the boys pig mutiny, I can't pass her up; she'll be gracing my sister's yard (her husband is actually a pig farmer) where she'll be appreciated and I can visit!

On sale for $23.99, regularly $39.99

Within the selection of outdoor decor items, my son found the object of his holiday heart's desire, the animated, lighted reindeer.  With the budget friendly sale price, we can certainly get a buck and a doe.   These must be very popular this year, as again, the store is out of boxed animated doe.

After a thorough search, both on the sales floor and in back room stock, a very helpful employee helps us to purchase the only animated doe in the store, which is on display.  A manager also helps out, making sure that display model is complete and is functioning properly for us.  We appreciate the special attention and assistance and my son is thrilled.

On sale for $16.99, regularly $29.99

My son was also hoping to add some lighted, spiral Christmas trees to our haul; unfortunately, the store was completely out of them, sans the multi colored display model, so we decided to explore other options.  After arriving home, I did discover I could still get them online with free store pickup.

On sale, $20.99, regularly $34.99

The boys found a fun set of multi function icicle lights to use on the front porch for some extra pizazz.  With varying light effects, this 12ct set is just the right size and on sale, will work easily into our budget.

With several shrubs in front of the house, we selected three sets of GE white, light nets.  We were excited to find that both the icicle set, as well as the nets were energy efficient!  Fantastic!

On sale, from .77 to $12.49!

My son and I debated at length about which festive wreath to choose to replace the sad, well used wreath we've been using in previous years.  My son was very attracted to a flashy design, while I was looking at more classic options.  In the end, we decided to create our own wreath, picking up a plain, artificial wreath and pre made holiday bows we both liked, on sale, of course!

On sale for $5.99, regularly $9.99

Although my husband assures me that we have plenty of holiday decor pieces inside our home, I can't help but to be drawn in by the cute decor pieces and the fantastic sale savings.  You can never have enough cute snowmen around the house for the holidays!

Beyond the great bargains we were able to take advantage of, we received a budget friendly surprise at checkout!  Purchase $50 or more at Kmart and receive a $5 gift card!  More savings = winning!  This special ends on Saturday, December 17th - don't miss it!

Stayed tuned to see the festive holiday theme we achieved with our great buys from #KmartHoliday!
