So often I feel like I need two more hands and two more days in the week...

So, I am always on the lookout for ideas and products that save me time!  


While I do love baking and cooking for my family, I enjoy it most when I can commit time to create in the kitchen at a leisurely pace.  


My least favorite baking is for the dreaded plea at 8pm, "Mom!  I need to take cookies to school tomorrow!". (groan)

My family enjoyed an opportunity to test Smiley Cookie heart shaped Valentine Cookies.  I was very interested to experience the quality and taste, never having ordered baked goods online.  I should also mention, many moons ago, I managed two specialty bakery shops while in college.



When I say "my family enjoyed", I should clarify:
My family gobbled them up!  Big thumbs up from the testing crew!

Valentine's Cookies

I was personally left with one cookie.  Not crumbs and a cookie.  The cookies actually transported very nicely and arrived in an adorable box, in addition to the regular packaging.

I found my Valentine cookie to be delicious and fresh; the frosting quite tasty.
(if you've ever tried a pre-packaged sweet treat and found the frosting less than palatable, you'll appreciate this).  While not a soft cookie, the firmness was just right.  Although not quite the same flavor as the Pennsylvania-Dutch cut out cookies I make at home, quite similar.

I've used Conair products for a very long time.   From quality brushes in the latest colors to my cherished hot roller set.   (I won't tell you how old I was when I received the hot rollers, but it was a loooong time ago and despite not being shiny and cutting edge anymore, they still works great!)

I had opportunity to explore a scrumptious basket from Gourmet Gift Baskets ~ 
the Be My Valentine Basket ~ simply brimming with chocolate delights!  Did I feel a little guilty getting into all those goodies...only for a minute!  I read a wonderful article on the benefits of the right chocolate at the Gourmet Gift Basket blog, Chocolate Should and Can Be Part of Your Daily Diet.  I also enlisted the testing assistance of the whole family!

While all the chocolate treats were delicious, everyone had their own favorite selection.
My husband loves dark chocolate, and predictably, his favorite was the Lake Champion Dark Chocolate Bar.  My son loved the Dolcetta Chocolate Wafer Petites, with their fudge like center, surrounded with a light, crisp wafer.  Chocolate Covered Cherries, sweet and tart by Marich were quickly spoken for by my daughter.  My personal favorite were the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Sticks by Sweet Co, so delicious!
