Seasonal Scents ~ @Febreze_Fresh Prize Pack Give Away

Do you associate certain scents with memories or holidays?  I certainly do!  The scent of lilacs reminds me of childhood spring time, warm cinnamon and baking apples always smells fall.  Pumpkin and spice brings back fond memories of the full family gathered for Thanksgiving at my grandmother's home and cranberry and vanilla takes me back to Christmases past.

Of course, many of these familiar and comforting holiday scents in my memory are sourced from activities and items that are not as available to nestle into my own children's memories.  Although I love to bake and create in the kitchen, I do not do as much home cooking as my grandmother or even my mother did for the holidays.  Even the sharp, green scent of a freshly cut Christmas Tree is not an aroma that my children are exposed to, except on the rare occasion I might put together a fresh bough or wreath as we keep an artificial tree.

Even without these scent naturally occurring, with help from a family favorite product, I can recreate those olfactory stimulated memories that have such a profound effect on me, welcome my guests and envelope my family with the same rich and comforting effect with Febreze Holiday Collections.

Given an opportunity to dress my home with the Cozy Vanilla Sugar line from the Febreze Holiday Collection was a delight for myself and my family, as well as my guests.  Although Febreze scented and neutralizing sprays are a regular staple used to keep my home smelling fresh and inviting, this was my first opportunity to enjoy the Febreze NOTICEables plug in line and scented candles and I was beyond pleased with both.  

I have frequently been tempted by various scented candles in the past, enticed by the fullness of their scent at first sniff, only to be disheartened and even disappointed by their inability to waft that same scent in my home while in use.  Not so with the Febreze candle!  The scent stayed true and warmed my room, easing into adjacent areas at a level that was subtle and not overpowering, yet distinct enough to create the tone I desired.

I was even more pleased by my experience with the Febreze NOTICEables.  Quite some time has passed since I have used a plug-in scent and, frankly, my experience was less than ideal.  With a history of positive results from other Febreze products, I was hopeful and, in the end, not disappointed in the slightest.  

I placed  one unit in my home's foyer and another in the hallway of our second level.  Both units have performed beyond my hope, gently scenting both the common areas and the gentle scent is noticeable in other adjacent rooms as well.  Nearly the thirty day mark of our test, both units are still working as well as they did on day one, although I can easily see from the clear refill container that I will need to replace them in the upcoming days.  

I am completely taken with the ease and convenience of simply plugging them in and not having to fuss with dressing my home with a desirable fresh, scent.  Both family and guests enjoy being gently enveloped in the seasonal fragrance upon entering our home.

Stylish Accessories For Men ~ @Guess Watches

 Like the rest of my family, my husband maintains a very busy lifestyle, between work commitments, the kid's schedules and his seemingly never ending Honey Do list as we remodel our home.  Although off hours, his style can only be described as casual-convenient, he surprises me occasionally by wanting to dress to his best and treat me to an evening out, when he can find a sliver of time in our schedule.  Secretly, I suspect he enjoys an excuse to enjoy the finer things, although if I were to ask, I would likely be met with a mumbled response.

A clue to this conclusion is shopping with him.  Although I consider myself to be quite susceptible to a new look or display in the store, I often find I have lost him in our shopping journey to a similar display of dress shirts, jackets and, more frequently, men's watches.  Oh, yes - he has a thing for time pieces.

His penchant for the latest looks may have some base in that he is extraordinarily rough on watches, necessitating that we select based on quality, rather than on price.  At any given time, his personal stash includes at least two, in varying conditions, suitable for rough work, a couple for everyday wear and certainly one for special attire outings.

When shopping for him for holidays or gifting occasions, he never fails to advise me, in varying levels of subtlety, of the latest watch models that have caught his attention, whether spied on a shopping excursion or that he has discovered online or in a print ad.  Top on his list this year, a sporty offering from the GUESS On The Town collection, a bold, adventurous look with gunmetal accents and a gray faux crocodile leather band.  Although some of the pieces in his collection have a more simple design, he always seems to be drawn to those with more complex faces and multiple dials.  Solid and well-constructed, I have no issue in gifting him a GUESS time piece as our prior experience with the line attests to the style and quality.  With the most recent selection easily taken care of, I am only left to wonder which new watch model will be next to catch his eye.

New Tech Spins On Classic Fun ~ @NerfNation

With children of older ages, both tween and teen, I am accustomed to the draw of pushing limits and the appeal of new twists to favorite activities and games. Even if their adventures involve the comfort and safety of our own backyard, fun in the cloak of evening adds a much desired element of excitement no matter the activity.  Whether an evening dip in the pool, a game of basketball or wall ball or even a camp out, complete with tent, flashlights and spooky tales, if it occurs after the sun has set, the fun factor is greatly multiplied.

Much like the excitement of games of laser tag, keeping a supply of toys and equipment on hand to accommodate their evening antics helps ensure they will stay out of trouble and, as a secret added benefit, helps Mom keep track of their activities in a stealthy fashion.  When I discover a new contender for fun in the dark of evening or in the darkened rec room in off season, I am quick to snatch them up!

When I ran across the NERF FIREVISION collection, I knew they would make the perfect addition to my son's supplies for cold weather season sleepovers.  With cool, night vision Sports Frames, a tech-coordinated Hyper Bounce Ball, and the option to pick up addition frames for friends or a set complete with a mini NERFOOP , perfect for use indoors, even the tech-geek in me was piqued.

NERF FIREVISION

NERF Sports Frames and Hyper Bounce Ball coordinate together when powered by four alkaline batteries, which are included conveniently in the set.  Uber cool red lighting from the frames allows users to identify and find the lighted Hyper Bounce Ball.  The FIREVISION is equally functional in both daylight, interior light and in lack of light, although play in the dark certainly adds an extra element of fun!  Although my tween son and his friends have been enjoying their indoor play, they can't wait for a break in the weather to test out the Hyper Bounce Ball out of doors, as it boosts a 100 foot bounce range, adding significant value to the specialized lighting to help ensure they keep it in sight.

My family has always been pleased with the quality of other NERF products we have enjoyed over the years and our high opinion continues after putting the NERF FIREVISION Hyper Bounce Ball and accessories to the test.  Choosing to pick up additional sets to gift to my nephews for our upcoming holiday gift gathering was one of the easiest holiday gift decisions I have made yet this season.

Despite my best efforts to find a listing of best XBox 360 titles for mom gaming dummies, my lack of discovery led to a bit of ingenuity.  The logical place to start for me was a sorted view of the latest XBox titles at Amazon. Based upon purchase popularity of newer titles, I was quickly able to compile the list below of XBox 360 titles appropriate for my family.
